The Ball Era | Ball Abroad by Hussein Abdullahi

The Big Baller Brand has emerged tremendously over the past year, becoming publicly acknowledged on a national scale. LaVar Ball calls it “BALL-MANIA”. He created a platform for his kids to accomplish their lifelong dreams of playing professional basketball.

On December 11 2017, former UCLA Guard LiAngelo Ball & brother LaMelo have signed contracts to joined forces with the Prienai–Vytautas club in Lithuania. The contract will be a 1-year deal that will run through to the end of the season. Lavar Ball will be joining his boys in Lithuania; The Prienai-Vytautas club is in for a special surprise.

I commend LaVar for using the Big Baller Brand as a market tool for his kids; he has a strange way of making his vision come to fruition. He surpassed several expectations made by the public, and will continue to stand firm behind all his statements regarding his son's careers. He still believes that one day all three of his son's will be on the Lakers.

Our goal is to get both of them, have all three of them on the Lakers - LaVar Ball

LiAngelo Ball, former UCLA guard earned himself a suspension for a shoplifting incident in China. LiAngelo was arrested alongside 2 teammates (Jalen Hill, Cody Riley). UCLA suspended them indefinitely with no timetable on LiAngelo's return. However, a couple weeks later LiAngelo decided that he would longer attend UCLA and would pursue a professional career overseas.

Not everybody gets to be a professional basketball player, so that’s good information to hear - LiAngelo Ball

LaMelo 16 year-old sensation, has dropped out of Chino Hills HS. The Jr. Guard was ranked top 20 in his class, and had verbally committed to UCLA like older brothers (Lonzo, and LiAngelo). LaMelo will forgo his college eligibility to play professional overseas. LaMelo has become the youngest Ball brother to turn pro. LaMelo has stated that he's done with school and is a dream come true to be a Professional ball player.

If you want to be a doctor or a scientist i would say go to school. But, for athletics I don’t think you need school. - LaMelo Ball

LaVar waited no time, as he made his appearance in Lithuania, LaVar has met with front office to present his idea; Big Baller Brand Challenge. This will include a series of 5 games between Prienai- Vytautas and other Lithuania teams. Vytautas was behind this and even agreed to drop out of their current league. On Tuesday Jan.9, LiAngelo and LaMelo suited up for Prienai- Vytatuas combining for 29 points helping Prenai to a 90-80 win. The Ball brothers stole the show; it's exciting times for the Prienai-Vytautas club.

LaVar continues to be a pioneer for his Big Baller Brand, but how will his sons live up to the demanding expectations? It will be intriguing to witness how well LaMelo and LiAngelo both adjust to playing at the professional level with limited to no college experience. Remember we are witnessing the "Ball Era".
