The 6'1 New Jersey native Jahvon Quinerly has cultivated the Tri-state area with his flashy play and stellar performance. The senior guard out of Hudson Catholic (NJ) has emerged as one of the top guards in the country, and will be participating in this year McDonald's All-American Game alongside the nations top HS prospects. Also in attendance will be Jersey's own Louis King, and Naz Reid, the game will be played on March 28,2017 at Phillip Arena in Atlanta.
Last season Jahvon led Hudson Catholic to a 26-4 record, averaging 21 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals. He also led the Hawks to their 6th consecutive NJSIAA title. In March of 2017 Jahvon was named “New Jersey Gatorade Player of the year”, being the 1st player in school history to receive that award. In his final season as a Hawk, Jahvon has high hopes of making history in quest for his 1st TOC State Championship. The Hawks currently sit at #1 in their conference with a 12-0 regular league record. Next fall Jahvon Quinerly will be attending Villanova university, where he'll play for legendary Coach Wright. Jahvon has become the 3rd signee for the Hawks this season joining teammates: Luther Muhammad (Ohio State University), and Louis King (Oregon University).
Jahvon is also a prominent member of the illustrious “Jelly Fam”. The Jelly Fam is comprised of a group of prospects within the Tri-state area that have transcended the culture of basketball. Their movement has spread on a national stage and with members playing at the collegiate level they look to gain more notoriety and inspire the youth. The members in Jelly Fam: Ja’Quaye James (Teaneck HS), Isaiah Washington (UofMinn), Sid Wilson (UConn), Jordan Walker (Seton Hall), Leondre Washington (Robert Morris U), Jahvon Quinerly (Hudson Catholic) Pedro Marquez (Erie CC), and Melicia Reid (Ole Miss). The Jelly Fam movement has created a reputable brand, and will be focal point of NYC hoops for years to come.
"Overtime" got an exclusive interview with Jahvon as he update them with the history of the “Jelly Fam’ movement and potential goals of their "hoop fraternity". He never expected the movement to be acknowledged on a national scale and still doesn’t believe the impact it has on a community. He gives away tips on how to join their hoop fraternity as they look to expand with new members in the near future. Jahvon is currently ranked in ESPN's Top 10 guards, and sits at #26 overall.
